Dear HK Community,
We’ve been quiet and contemplative while tending to our families during this most urgent time, but we wanted to take a moment to reach out to all of you. How are you doing?
Yes, we are still open for online business but to be honest that is not a priority for us right now. We love our clothes – truly we do and we keep hearing from you that you do too. It warms our hearts to know that some of you are literally wearing HK right now, but our priority now is our community. We have made the following plans:
• Going forward we will distribute any value that can be gained by our Only Black line to programs that support women in need. To that, we’ll be donating the full proceeds of all future revenue to women that are in the most desperate situations, being super practical – who needs help now.
• We have cancelled all HK Trunk Shows and halted production on our spring/summer capsule. We realize that we don’t need more non-vital consumables produced – to be honest, we’ve wrestled on this decision for some time. We’re working on a revised vision for HK and it’s not producing more new, but repurposing what’s already there.
• When possible, we will continue to publish our HK Fridays (and some special editions), as we know that women-focused storytelling can be a lifeline to many of us – stories that cause us to take action, provide support or make us smile. Every day we see another woman standing up and saying “I am doing something to help and I need your help”. Collectively, women will be making a material societal difference in this time and HK wants to provide a platform to those women making a difference.
So that’s where we are at right now, it could change.
Please keep in touch and send stories that should be shared to info@harriskuipers.com. We are here, ready to tell them.
Our biggest love and thanks to all of you.
Laura and Shelley
